3D Display Disadvantages

As for any product, 3D displays do not only have benefits, they also possess some limitations for industries and functional areas of different field. 3D displays cannot be a market for several types of people. Even though the price of 3D displays is expected to decrease later, it is fairly high for the present time, which means that low income population cannot benefit from this new technology. With this situation, television companies are not going to earn a lot of profits from this new technology.

Moreover, 3D displays cannot be viewed by people who are not capable of binocular fusion or inherited with color blindness. Even for normal people, 3D displays may be very eye tiring and lead to headaches since some types of displays must be viewed with glasses. Hence, for the television industry, this may be an obstacle when trying to sell or advertise 3D televisions since consumers may be reluctant with the fact that this new technology will cause a problem of eye fatigue. Not only that, if it happens to be several viewers, there must be several pair of glasses, otherwise only one person can watch 3D images diffused by the screen. The main disadvantage relating to the wear of glasses is obviously the tendency for the user to be separated from the real world. However, it is up to the consumer to choose the autostereoscopic technology where glasses are not needed.

Among industries using 3D displays, nuclear medicine also chose this tool to c
onduct experiments, where images can be of higher resolution. However, the problem of memory is a drawback for 3D displays since these high resolution pictures occupies significant storage space. Furthermore, it takes longer to process these images than two-dimensional pictures. In terms of production, it also takes more time to produce a 3D clip than it is for a 2D clip. Thus, if an advertisement company tries to present an advertising ad, it would be more complex and time consuming for this kind of business to come up with a result. This inconvenience can lead to a loss for the company.

In summary, 3D displays should attract more people to accept this technology in the near future even though there are disadvantages associated with it. It is only a matter of time because this concept is still new. 3D displays are expecting to grow and benefit this new generation where technology is an important issue.

3D Display Advantages

In the technology world, 3D displays are growing faster since its numerous advantages for different types of organizations overcome its disadvantages. For instance, in medicine area, 3D display is helping doctors to see more in depth and real in surgeries. It also releases surgeons from the headset that they used to put on, hence permitting them to maintain a direct contact with the surroundings. It can speed up the process and help to accomplish the surgery with more precision. This method is already been experienced in laparoscopic surgery at the University of Cambridge, which is continuing to improve and benefit the medicine world.

Moreover, 3D displays are used in the business market world, where they help to save money because this technology definitely improves production and efficiency. For example, Philips, Sharp, Itochu, Sanyo, Sony and other companies have already begun to adapt the concept. Philips Company attracted its viewers focus when they first introduced its 3D high definition plasma television allowing them to experience another way of watching television. Since there is no need to wear glasses to view 3D with their new concept, people are fascinating by pictures coming out of the screen. This may also be a good tool for advertising companies because it is a really good way to attract customers. Images will be more realistic and messages will be sent with more power to customers and consumers. Furthermore, beyond using 3D displays in product advertising, it is believed that 3D displays are potentially able to improve quality of presentation in museums, department stores, public transports, hotels’ lobbies, cinemas, 3D animations entertainment purposes such as video games, and much more. Thus, there is a large potential market available for this revolutionary technology that will be used to upgrade the electronic world to a higher extend, in order to create value for our society.

3D Display Revolution

3D display technology is an innovative technology that will continue to evolve and progress to give better results. A century ago, people who were watching television in two-dimension would never imagine that 100 years later, technology would advance to a point that makes three-dimensional images accessible. In addition that 3D displays can offer a higher resolution of images than 2D displays, 3D performance gives the viewer an experience of real sensation compared to normal screens. Moreover, with this new information technology, it is expected that it has the potential to replace some other technologies in the near future.

It has already begun to make expansion in the electronic industry of television, computers and video games’ field. For instance, 3D display technology that implies watching with glasses is improving to convert this inconvenient to a new technique of display without need of glasses, which is referred as stereoscopic/autostereoscopic 3D display technology. The new technique employs optical materials instead of glasses to achieve this upgrade. Furthermore, without the use of glasses, more convenience was resulted in laparoscopic surgery, conducted at University of Cambridge, where doctors could have direct eye contact with their environment. Hence, we are expecting 3D display information technology to carry on further, hoping that it would develop to a higher extend to give consumers a maximum of satisfaction.

What is 3D Display?

In today’s fast pace society, the technology world is revolutionizing significantly every day. Improvements in technology are leading us in a new era, where sophisticated products are created to make our life better than ever before. Among these new technologies, information technology is an interesting issue to consider. For example, 3D display is a fascinating topic to discuss about since it can transform a screen of images into a magical world to our eyes.

There are four different types of 3D displays, which are identified to be stereoscopic, autostereoscopic, computer-generated holography and volumetric. Furthermore, there are subtypes that distinguish between glasses types and non-glasses types of 3D displays. Each of these types of displays presents advantages and disadvantages to various industries.

Moreover, 3D displays are defined as any display means capable of transmitting a three-dimensional image to an observer. 3D display technology is a relatively simple work. Human natural eyes are horizontally apart from one another. Our brain has to transform both two-dimensional images perceived by our eyes into a single three-dimensional image since there is a little difference between both two-dimensional images. 3D displays are exactly imitating the same natural process by delivering to each eye a distinct image that will appear to be coming out of the screen.

Lately, 3D displays that can diffuse spectacular 3D images of higher quality are available at a reasonable price range. This is the main reason why it is more and more appreciated by consumers.
